As more academics create multimedia and born-digital projects, the university press will likely play a new role in developing and distributing this developing genre of scholarly work. This panel will explore the exciting possibilities for multimedia projects and the platforms that are being developed to help scholars do this work. We will address such questions as: How do you handle peer review for non-standard "book" projects? What is the publisher's role in editing and designing these projects? How will packaging and distribution for multimedia projects differ from standard e-books? How do you handle rights and permissions for the various media that may be embedded in a digital project? Will born-digital projects change what we do as university presses? Or are they simply an additional aspect of our traditional scholarly mission?
